Bass Boats are Flip Flop Unfriendly

You would think that wearing flip flops on a bass boat would be appropriate footwear. Let me tell you that wearing cheaply made foam sole flip flops while fishing is not recommended.

I used to buy the cheapest footwear available, thinking the low cost outweighed the risks. I estimate that I have came close to falling out of the boat more times than I care to say. the low cost was worth the risk. With cheap flip flops, all you have to do is catch the toe/front of the sole on something and its a potential trip to the hospital.

I keep actual water shoes in the boat, but I don't like how confining they are, especially when I am on the trolling motor. I also don't like how water shoes stay damp and hold things like small pieces of gravel in the inside of the shoe.

My solution (recommendation) is to spend a little more money on better quality footwear. I eventually settled upon brown tribal print flip flops from Wave Shoppe.

What's nice about these flip flops are that they are still priced under $20 and have a foam insole and a hard rubber outer sole.

When you do catch your toe on something, they don't roll under like foam flip flops. The firm sole also makes much easier to hold your foot on the trolling motor run switch.

I also like that the toe straps appear to be better attached than the cheap stuff that you would find at places like Walmart etc.

Mahalo and tight lines!

Hawaiian Shirt Friday at the Yuma Indoor Market Place

Hawaiian Shirt Friday at the Yuma Indoor Market Place occurs the last Friday of every month. Below are pictures of some of the many vendors participating in Hawaiian Shirt Friday. Many of the venders are wearing clothing made by Wave Shoppe Hawaiian Shirts as well as colorful garments from their own closets.

The marketplace is a cool place to shop because people can graze multiple isles of merchandise that may or may not be readily available in Yuma.

Of course there is lots of southwestern themed products as well as food, a book trader, and of course Hawaiian clothing.

You will also find therapeutic essential oils from Dotera, as well as Mama Bella hot sauce and much more.
