Five Random Things I Remember (well sort of):
- Eating at the very 1st McDonald's: The first McDonald's Restaurant opened in Des Plaines, Illinois by McDonald's Corporation founder, Ray Kroc, on April 15, 1955.
- Being scared shitless by the big blue Toys "R" Us Easter Bunny back in the early 60s.
- The underground bowling alley by the “Greeks” restaurant and the Glen Ellyn Theater, FYI There really were such creatures as greasers.
- Living with a colored family during in the 60s racial segregation (we were right next to the Billy Graham Center), not a very good place for a white boy!
- Actually seeing a comet burn through the atmosphere in the daytime, it was a totally awesome orange fireball.
